Visiting FOUNDRY:
Welcome to FOUNDRY! Here's a few new favorites from our store.
This week, we're rocking a reclaimed wood tulip table, gorgeous gold leaf chairs, and another terrifically turquoise pair. Our personal favorite this time around is a repurposed cash register lamp, locally made and uniquely chic. Cha-ching!

Foundry is proud to be listing additional inventory for One Kings Lane, the design-centric home-decor web retailer. Because of their love for all things home, One Kings Lane created an exclusive site where members can find incredible value on furniture, accessories, gifts, and even vintage -- plus, there are new sales Every. ONE KINGS LANE
Yes! We do sell ASCP in various colors, as well as the wax and brushes. If you need a specific color that isn't in stock, we can order it for you as well.
ANNIE SLOAN CHALK PAINT
If you love the Foundry look, but aren't sure how to recreate it in your own home, we've got you (and your walls) covered. We think that home should definitely reflect where the heart is, so no matter what you love, let's make your space live up to it!
Regardless of the staple Washington real estate quirks -- you know, the nonexistant storage space, the elongated rowhouse halls, the curiously-shaped rooms -- Foundry's lead designer Yvette will help you refine it into your own personal paradise. Initial design consultation consists of a three-hour block of time for $425. Plus, if you then choose items from our store, that same $425 can be used like a designer-advice-gift-card combo, where the balance is put towards your purchases. Additional consultation and services can be bought in blocks of three, as before, for $265 an hour. Please contact Yvette for additional information, at yvette@foundrybyfreeman.com
DESIGN CONSULTATION
Do you love unique and interesting furnishings but have no time to go look for them in antique stores, auctions, and wherever else it is they hide around the country? (We wouldn't either, if we were anyone else!)
Fortunately for you, that's basically our life. Send us your wishlist and let us know if you're looking for a something as specific as a 40's bakelite tube radio (in marbelized green, please!), or something as general as a seriously chic dinette set. We'll check off the items on your list for you, refurbish them to their full beauty (if they even need it), and then let you know that, hey, we totally found that crazy radio you wanted! Email your wish list to yvette@foundrybyfreeman.com.
PERSONAL SHOPPING
We do offer estate liquidation services in the D.C. Metro area. Because of the nature of the service, please contact us for a custom quote.
We want to get to know our design clients so that we can honestly understand their needs for the space, whether it's tiny townhome tea-room, or grand decor for a new restaurant opening. The design process is unique to each client, and we strive to understand the needs and desires they have for the individual space.
Yvette has been involved in interior design for over fifteen years. What started as a passion has now developed into an exceptional talent! She has been featured in ABC Extreme Makeover, was involved in designing the Washington Area Human Society space, and continues working with several personal clients in the area.

Curry hails from the rural town of Amelia, VA and is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Architecture at Howard University, Washington, D.C. Eventually, he plans to launch a multidisciplinary creative firm specializing in installation design, industrial design, and creative media. When not working hard in the studio, Curry enjoys cycling, photography, and freelancing graphic design.

Megan (pictured here with her pup Marley) is a D.C. native who had a brief stint in Architecture, working for some of the largest firms in the area before falling into antiques. You'll find Megan at Foundry during the week, usually re-arranging furniture or creating cute vignettes on tabletops. Her design aesthetic leans towards the masculine side, but if you asked her who her designer crush was, she'd tell you

Before opening FOUNDRY, Freeman was co-owner of a Boutique Real Estate Development firm for nearly two decades with her brother, specializing in Historic Preservation, mixed use, and single family homes.
If you ask Yvette, she'll tell you that “everyone should live in a beautiful space that tells their personal story, one unique piece at a time." As the Foundry founder, she can be contacted at yvette@foundrybyfreeman.com for special or general inquiries.

For the last 20 years, Yvette Freeman has been rummaging through barns, warehouses, and flea markets across the country and in Europe on a quest to find the most unique furniture and home décor. Her efforts finally came together in the Fall of 2011, when she opened her Washington, D.C. store in the hottest design and furniture district of 14th and U Street NW.

Ash is a mid-western girl that moved to Washington to study Interior Industrial Design at the Corcoran. She recently took a hiatus from working inside the store, but in the meantime she writes our blog and makes sure the website doesn't explode, too!

PREVIOUS PICKING PICTURES
(BECAUSE MAYBE YOU THOUGHT WE WERE JOKING)
verb (used with object)
1. to choose or select awesome things from among a group;
2. to seek and find great occasions (and great stuff);
verb (used with town) (FOUNDRY terminology)
1. to adventure in a selected geographical area with intent to rustle up all manner of vintage treasures, and subsequently drive them back to a new, happier life in a DC home.
PICK: [pik]
Even though our home is in the swank city of Washington, DC, Yvette spends a lot (read: a whole lot) of her time far far away from the district's monuments, embassies, and crazy-dangerous traffic circles, picking up unique pieces from around the world.
This means she sees a lot of stuff. Crazy stuff. Two-story high flamingos, perfectly piled-and-plated crab cakes, chairs fit for the Brobdingnagian king -- we've got it. But the crazy stuff is usually the good stuff, so we've started keeping track, and we want your help!
If you've got some serious curiousities in your town (or maybe it's not your town and you're pretty happy about that),write to us! We know there's plenty of crazy to go around, so share it with us and we'll bring a little piece back to FOUNDRY, too.
Where in the World is Yvette Now?
(SERIOUSLY, WE CAN'T KEEP TRACK OF THIS LADY)
